The professional NFL football team New York Jets, whose nickname is Gang Green, represent New York's metropolitan area and play their home games in East Rutherford, NJ. They are one of the American Football Conference's members in the Eastern Division. The Jets and New York Giants both play in Meadowlands Stadium in East Rutherford. The corporate headquarters and training facility for the team are in Florham Park, NJ. Before 2008, the team's training facility and headquarters were in Hempstead, NY at Hofstra University on Long Island. The team also conducts a training camp in Cortland, NY at SUNY Cortland.

The New York Jets beat the Baltimore Colts to win Super Bowl III. They were the first team from the AFL to beat an NFL team for an AFL-NFL championship.
