The NFL professional football team Jacksonville Jaguars are based out of Jacksonville, Florida. The team is an American Football Conference member in the South Division. In 1995 the Jaguars and Carolina Panthers became members of the NFL as expansion teams.

All of the Jaguars home games have been played in Jacksonville Municipal Stadium. The team's headquarters are also at the stadium. Jacksonville's training camp and season practices are held in the stadium as well as at adjoining practice fields.

The best seasons for the Jaguars were 2005 and 2007. In 2005 the team had a 12-4 record and came in second place in the AFC South. They were defeated 28-3 by the New England Patriots in the AFC Wild Card Playoff game. In 2007 the Jaguars went 11-5 for another second place AFC South finish. They defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Wild Card game 31-29, but lost the Divisional Playoff game 31-20 to the New England Patriots.
