cincinnati bengals History

The NFL professional football team Cincinnati Bengals are based out of Cincinnati, Ohio. They are an American Football Conference member and play in the North Division. The team was established in 1967 by Paul Brown. The first two seasons for the team, 1968 and 1969, were played as members of the American Football League. However, Brown only agreed to join the AFL with the promise that the team would become part of the NFL following the impending merger between the AFL and NFL leagues. When the AFL and NFL merged in 1970, the Bengals became members of the NFL.

The Cincinnati Bengals conduct their summer training camp in Georgetown, Kentucky at Georgetown College. The team plays their home games in downtown Cincinnati at Paul Brown Stadium.
