The NFL professional football team Chicago Bears are based out of Chicago, Illinois. The team plays plays in the National Football Conference's North Division. The headquarters and practice facilities for the franchise are located in Lake Forest, a Chicago suburb, at Halas Hall. The team's annual training camp is held in Bourbonnais, Illinois at Olivet Nazarene University. The Bears play their home games at Soldier Field and have since 1971.

The team was formed in 1919 in Decatur Illinois. In 1921 the franchise moved to Chicago. The Bears and Arizona Cardinals (who are from Chicago originally) are the only two franchises remaining from the original founding of the NFL.

The Chicago Bears are the winners of nine league championships, including Super Bowl XX and eight NFL championships. The Bears have more enshrinees in Pro Football's Hall of Fame than any other team with 26 members. They also have more regular season victories as well as overall wins than any other franchise in the NFL. On December 7, 2008, the Bears won their 700th game.
